PAR’s mission is to be Louisiana’s independent voice, offering solutions to critical issues for the betterment of our state through accurate, objective research and focusing public attention on those solutions. PAR also serves as a government watchdog. PAR’s 70 years of research on Louisiana state and local government gives it a unique historical perspective, as well as the ability to monitor implementation of reforms and remind public officials of promises made.

In addition to serving as a catalyst for governmental reform, PAR also has an extensive program of citizen education, believing that the soundest way to achieve political progress is through deep-rooted public understanding and support rather than political pressure.

The information in this app was compiled from multiple sources including financial disclosure forms from the Louisiana Ethics Administration, Louisiana Legislature website, Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana publications and research, and information from legislators.

Occupation and sources of income for representatives and senators are based on self-disclosed information and on information from recent personal financial disclosure forms- schedules A through I- which can be found at www.ethics.state.la.us. Officials were given the opportunity to update the information. Sources of income were limited by space.

“Term Limits” in the biography of each official indicates the final year a senator or representative would be eligible to serve if he/she were reelected for all possible terms. The final term would expire in January of the year listed on the day when new legislators are sworn in.
